Child Sponsorship

Well, I first knew about child sponsorship when I was in form 3. That time I've taken up a part time sales assistant job in Mid Valley during the year-end holiday. One day, I saw my colleague was reading a letter. So, I made fun of her and asked if that was a love letter for her :) And she answered that was a letter from one of the child she sponsored in other country. The child sent her a recent photograph of him and updated her about his recent life. My friend was also kind enough to share me some information regarding child sponsorship. That time I was thinking, how awesome if I can do something meaningful like this also.

If you don't really know what child sponsorship is, you may pay a visit to this website - Child Sponsorship by World Vision Malaysia. In 2010, World Vision Malaysia raised over RM24 million and served in 17 countries. They were able to connect over 40,000 children with Malaysian child sponsors. And for me, the most awesome thing in child sponsorship is you can get to know your sponsored child and build an enriching friendship with him/her by writing letter or sending small gifts. :)

And now, I start having the thought of sponsoring a child again since I'm doing some freelance jobs and able to sustain my life with the money. I'll probably start the sponsorship after getting the salary of a working project that  will be started in this coming December. Just wanna make sure my financial status is stable enough because I don't want to discontinue the sponsorship halfway and hence make the child disappointed :)

So what about you? Are you going to start your own sponsorship? Try considering about this if your financial status allows you to do so. Cause you know, a simple gift of RM50 per month from you could make a better life to a child ;)

Belated post: "Where's The Party" by Carlsberg

Hi there! I'm here being bored again and that's why I'm going to blog about an awesome event that I've worked for about one month plus ago. Yeah, it was kinda long ago but better late than never right? ;)
*P/S: Be prepared, this is going to be a long post* XD

Okay, why it is named "Where's The Party"? because the guests didn't know the exact location of the party until the buses arranged by the organizer bring them there from the registration place, Bukit Jalil! Cool huh?The coolest thing was the guests don't even need to pay a cent for this party! It was all FOC including the resort and meal! :)

 There you go! :D

One thing I want to mention is I felt glad that Ann, Sien Xian and Edward were working together with me, I knew this only after I applied for this job alone :) I also met 2 new friends, Kylie and Chun Nien who are also studying in IACT College!

Okay, so we as the event crews went to the location of the party one day earlier, which is 24th of June. The job stated the location of the party was Port Dickson, but it was a PRANK! Guess the organizer worried that we will leak the secret location gua. We all didn't know until the buses brought us to Sepang Gold Coast! Well, I'm even worse. I didn't know even until I got down from the bus 'cause I slept too much on the bus =.= when Edward told me we were in Sepang Gold Coast I still thought he was just joking with me =.=

After the job briefing then we are considered free for the whole day! Woohoo! So after the briefing we just chilled around the beach and took some photos there.

And here is where we slept at night -- in a grand ballroom with air bed and sleeping bag .___.

but feeling not bad, feel like camping in an air-conditioned environment XD I miss the bed!

Let's proceed to the next day, the actual event day! Some of the crews were assigned to handle the registration at Bukit Jalil, which means they need to take another 1 hour+ journey go back to Bukit Jalil and come back again (kesian =.=)

And the rest of us stayed there, get prepared and waited for the arrival of the guests to give them a very warm welcoming :)

"Oh Yeah, here I am!" :D

Overall, it was really an awesome event which can let everyone forget about the stress in the hectic city. And I heard that Carlsberg is going to organize this EVERY YEAR! Oh Yeah I'm going to join this event again, AS A GUEST, not crew anymore :)
